The caravan station or (CaravanSerai) of Petra (Little Petra is a modern name)
is 7.5 KM (5 miles) north of Petra. Most of the Nabateans caravans stopped at
Beida to do the officials work (transactions, taxation and future deals, etc).
The Nabateans hosted the traders and their distinguished guests in a number of rooms reached after a short walk in the narrow Siq.
The area has a lot of farming land around sis terns and channels. 1 KM on the south you can walk to Neolithic village (7200 B.C).
